Relentless Advocacy was created to serve as an institutional check on justice system abuses in Tennessee. Akin to a cross between crusaders and buccaneers, we hold the justice system in line through court-ordered reforms (“injunctions”) and court-awarded plunder (“damages” and “attorney’s fees”). We are not diametrically opposed to law enforcement as an institution – instead, we see ourselves as an essential partner in maintaining a healthy, accountable, and constitutional justice system. No institution can effectively police itself; outside help is critical. That is our work.

Although Relentless is the brainchild and creation of attorney Kyle Mothershead, we have deliberately rejected the traditional law-firm model of building a brand around partners’ names. Relentless is an institution intended to stand the test of time – to continue fighting the good fight long after its founders are gone. As Relentless mentors and trains new generations of advocates, they will take up the mantle that the current team presently bears. Our identity is rooted in what we do, not in who we happen to be at any particular moment in time.

The Relentless logo is animated by the owl – a nocturnal predator that has long symbolized wisdom, perception, and skill in combat. Athena, the ancient Greek goddess, was often represented by the owl. Athena exemplified wisdom as well as the disciplined, strategic approach to battle. Relentless strives to embody the Athenian way in representing its clients - carefully building our cases, maneuvering for a strategic position, and finding the optimal time and place to strike.
